Associate Leader/Parent Helper

Associate Leaders (AL) may assist the Leaders of any Section. Unlike Section Leaders (Cub Scout Leader, Assistant Scout Leader, etc) an Associate Leader is not attached to any particular Section. Associate Leaders may be uniformed, although this is not mandatory. They must complete 1 weekend of basic leader training plus full Police background and history checks.

Associate Leaders are there to support and assist the Section Leaders. An Associate Leader may not take control of youth members without another fully qualified Leader being present.

Parent Helpers are simply parents that volunteer their time to help the Leaders during weekly Section meetings.

AL’s and Parent Helpers do not need to attend specific Section meetings every week, unless they wish to do so and are available, although some Sections (especially Joey’s) may have a parent roster to provide regular assistance to the Leaders.
